Here we are again with a new holiday offer – sun, friendship and many abrazos!
For this new edition, we’ve decided to visit Sicily again, but in a more “urban” environment than last year’s, which will allow you to explore the wonderful city of Catania, at the foot of the highest, and still active, volcano in Europe: monuments, museums, but also beaches, lots of food options, cafés and cultural life.
For this reason, we are going to stay in at least 2 different hotels, close to each other (please see description below), at the heart of town, next to the Cathedral of its Patron Saint – Agatha.
This will also allow us to walk to some milongas – and to offer the option of arriving one night earlier (on Thursday), with dinner and milonga included. Don’t miss the chance to make the most of this vibrant city!
At this stage, not all the details are available, as they’re work-in-progress with the milonga organisers, but we can already promise you the following:
· 3 nights in a **/*** hotel, with breakfast included (check-in Friday 20 October and check-out Monday 23)
· 3 milongas and, whenever necessary, transfers (public buses or taxis/private shuttles)
· 3 evening meals
· 2 classes with Leo y Eugenia before the milongas
…for the amazing price of 299 euros (double room)
– extra night: 65 euros/night for the double, 45 euros for the single
– single room : + 20 euros/night
– reduction for triple room: – 5 euros/night (please be aware that Hotel Biscari has huge rooms, so this is an excellent option for friends ☺)
and, with only +50 euros, you may arrive on Thursday, have dinner and go to a milonga together!
VOLCANIC – isn’t it??
As usual, you are required to send a non-reimbursable advance payment to secure your room, by bank transfer, and pay the remaining amount on the first day.
Bank details will be communicated upon your registration, which you may carry out by email (claudia@thewanderfulcloud.com), specifying :
– NAME and SURNAME of participant(s)
-HOTEL (please see options below)
– TYPE OF ROOM (single, double, twin, triple) – if you travel alone, but would like to share your room with another participant, please let me know and I’ll try to put you in touch with a potential roommate!
– CONTACTS (telephone and email)
– PACKAGE (3 or 4 nights)
– SPECIAL NEEDS/other REMARKS (extra nights, etc.)
PLEASE NOTE: Try to arrive before 4 pm, to have enough time to check-in, meet-up to pay up the trip, then walk to dinner and to the milonga together; if your flight lands later, please let me know asap!
HOTELS
Please note: they are going to keep the rooms for us until mid-August – no rooms guaranteed after that!
These are our options this year: 2 hotels of similar level, nice and helpful staff, in the town centre, next to the Cathedral.
Please make your choice (that may of course no longer be possible as the weekend fills up):
Hotel Centrale Europa
Right in the Cathedral square, all the rooms have a balcony facing the church!
Rooms on three floors, no lift, pleasant size, helpful staff and breakfast at a traditional café on the square.
Ideal for : couples and only option for singles.
Hotel Biscari
300 metres from the Cathedral square, next to an Alibus stop. Very big rooms, recommended for 3 or even 4 people…you’ll be able to have your own small milonga and revise some figures before the night together :)! Breakfast on the beautiful terrace. Staff also very helpful.
TRAVEL TIPS : HOW TO GET THERE
– Catania is very well connected and the airport is only 15 minutes away from the hotel and the city centre; the efficient Alibus (4 euros) service will take you to town, almost in front of our 2 hotels! Otherwise, a taxi is about 15-20 euros.
– If you land in Comiso, there are some connections between Comiso airport/Catania airport/Catania centre
– If you find a very cheap flight to Palermo, there are also many connections between the 2 cities, but it is a 2-hour bus drive and you will still need to get to Palermo train station first.
